ACTURIES NEEDED TO MENTOR STUDENTS IN INDIANAPOLIS!

St. Joan of Arc Catholic School
Indianapolis, IN

The Actuarial Foundation is sponsoring an Advancing Student Achievement (ASA) program at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School, Indianapolis, IN.

This mentoring opportunity will allow you to:

Work with students: Actuarial mentors are needed to work with students in grades 4-8 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School. St. Joan of Arc school celebrates individual differences, encourages academic excellence, advances values, promotes self-discipline and high standards of conduct, fosters life long learning, and produces leaders for the future.

Participate in innovation: Every other Friday at 8:30 – 9:15am and 9:15-10:00am, students at St. Joan of Arc will work with mentors in The Mathematics Pentathlon, a program of interactive problem-solving games. The second component of the program is called Sports Connections. Mentors will help students understand sports terminology, collect appropriate data, analyze data, properly display it in graphs and charts, and see how statistics are applied in real life situations. Mentors are needed for this program every other Monday at 9:00-9:45am, 9:45-10:30am, or 10:30-11:15 am.

Work in a fun environment: Actuarial mentors connecting with St. Joan of Arc students in fun math enhancement programs will enable them to demonstrate significant growth and progress in mathematical understanding and problem solving skills.
