Higher Achievement

The Actuarial Foundation’s Advancing Student Achievement (ASA) mentoring program continues at Higher Achievement.

Mentoring opportunities will allow you to:

Work with students: Established in 1975, Higher Achievement’s mission is to develop critical academic habits and attitudes in vulnerable middle school children from disadvantaged neighborhoods in the Washington, DC region in order to improve their grades, standardized test scores and attendance increasing their educational opportunities to attend top area high schools.

Participate in innovation: Work with Higher Achievement Scholars as they prepare to compete in a city-wide math championship and/or mentor students using fun math games and other math enhancement materials enabling them to demonstrate significant growth and progress in mathematical understanding and problem solving skills.

Work in a fun environment: Math mentoring is held from 6:00pm-8:00pm, one night per week. Your choice of Monday, Tuesday or Thursday!
